WA schools have been encouraged to follow in the footsteps of City Beach Primary School and register a team in the HBF Run for a Reason.
Physical education teacher Louise Smith said students were looking forward to running to raise money for WA's leading charities, and the 4km course would act as an interschool cross-country contest.
"We look forward to participating and fielding a team of runners and walkers of all abilities and having a fun family day," Mrs Smith said.
At least 100 children from the school are expected to run in the May 27 event, presented by _The West Australian _.
Mrs Smith said the school was lucky enough to win a $1250 early-bird registration prize from HBF, which it used to buy beach volleyball equipment and 10 basketball shirts.
The event, which also features a 14km course, aims to raise more than $400,000 for Cancer Council WA, Diabetes WA, the Heart Foundation of WA and Lifeline WA.For more information and to register, visit www.hbfrun.com.au .
