RECIPE: Festive BiscuitsMakes about 30
350g plain flour1 egg, lightly beaten
Royal icing:blue food colouring
Place flours, sugar and butter into the bowl of a food processor and blend on pulse setting until mix resembles breadcrumbs. Add syrup and egg. Pulse again until it comes together. Turn out on to bench and form a disc, wrap in cling film and pop into a fridge for a couple of hours. Preheat oven to 170C and line two trays with baking paper and set aside. Remove dough from fridge; roll out between two sheets of baking paper until 3-5mm thick. Cut into desired shape and pop on to tray and bake for 12-20 minutes or until cooked (cooking time will vary with size of biscuits).
For icing, beat together egg whites, icing sugar and lemon juice for approx 4-5 minutes until pure white and thickened. Divide mixture in half and colour one half with a couple of drops of blue food colouring. Keep icing covered until using as it will set. Using a piping bag, decorate biscuits with lines, dots and swirls.Sponsored links
