A man will stand trial defending allegations he murdered a 23-year-old Bunbury man in January.
Christopher James Marshall today pleaded not guilty to murdering Quentin Cornwall in Withers.
Police allege Mr Cornwall received fatal injuries during an altercation on January 25.
The Supreme Court was told today Mr Marshall's trial had been provisionally listed to take place in Bunbury in February.
Prosecutors said they had requested DNA and fingerprint reports and were still awaiting a final toxicology report.
Mr Marshall's defence lawyer told the court it appeared there was no prospect of a reduction in the charge.
Mr Marshall will reappear in the Supreme Court for a status conference in December.
