Police have identified a body found at Albany yesterday as a 31-year-old man and are treating his death as possible homicide.
A police spokeswoman said this morning that the body was found by a member of the public who was walking through bushland at the end of Barnesby Drive in Yakamia around 8am yesterday.
Albany police and detectives attended the area and deemed the death to be suspicious.
"Major Crime Squad officers attended from Perth late yesterday afternoon, and have taken carriage of the investigation," the spokeswoman said.
"They are treating the death as a suspected homicide.
"The body has been identified as a 31-year-old man. His next of kin have been notified."
Forensic police will continue their investigation of the scene today.
