Thousands of Fremantle Dockers members are set to miss out on grand final tickets should the team make the last game in September, after an over-subscription during yesterday’s ticket registration.
According to the AFL 18,778 eligible Fremantle members registered for tickets, exceeding the 14,000 tickets allocated to each competing club.
The AFL said 7129 priority one members, who are guaranteed tickets should Fremantle win next weekend’s home preliminary final, registered for tickets, leaving just 6871 tickets for the remaining 11,649 priority two members who registered.
Should Fremantle make the grand final, all priority two members will go into a ballot and will be notified if they have secured tickets on Monday, September 23.
Those guaranteed tickets include the Harbour Master members and members who purchased a grand final upgrade package at the start of the season.
Ticketek will start processing and allocating tickets after the preliminary final. All successful members will have their Ticketek account number displayed on the Ticketek and Fremantle websites from 9am Monday, September 23rd.
Those who do not secure tickets can still purchase corporate packages, which start from $1495.
