Being compared with Perth-born supermodel/actress Gemma Ward and Victoria's Secret stunner Candice Swanepoel may be a big compliment for WA schoolgirl Jess Picton-Warlow but since signing to Vivien's Model Management in Perth, the 15-year-old beauty's unique looks have caught the attention of Australia's fashion elite.
Picton-Warlow got her first taste of modelling after becoming a national finalist in the 2012 Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search but after joining Vivien's books this year, the captivating blonde landed her first major modelling
campaign based purely on her raw digital shots.
The Presbyterian Ladies' College student - along with fellow Vivien's Perth models Tatyana Gillam and Larna Puddy - was one of few girls from across the country who were hand-picked for the latest campaign for high-profile hairstylist Kevin Murphy, which was shot in Melbourne and Sydney by internationally renowned photographer Robert Erdmann.
"I was just excited," Picton-Warlow said of working with Erdman, who has worked with some of the world's biggest fashion and film stars, including supermodel Heidi Klum and actress Halle Berry.
"There's no point being nervous because it shows up in your face if you're freaking out."
Since landing her first fashion campaign, Picton-Warlow has also walked in her first-ever runway show, having taken to the catwalk for One Fell Swoop's spring/summer showing in Perth last month, and will make her debut at Perth Fashion Festival this week where she is expected to appear in multiple shows.
Perth Fashion Festival kicks off on Wednesday with a 15th anniversary show, which will be broadcast live on thewest.com.au/pfflive from 7.15pm, and ends next Monday.
