A tagged great white shark has been detected off Ocean Reef just two days after several beaches in the area were closed due to another sighting.
The shark was detected at the Ocean Reef receiver several times between 5.31am and 5.42am this morning.Rangers from the City of Joondalup closed beaches around the Ocean Reef Boat Harbour on Sunday because a shark was seen in the area.
Kite surfer is having difficultly off Cottesloe. Kite surfer is OK. Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter is directing the Cottesloe IRB to assist.
Coogee, Floreat, Freo, Quinns, Secret Harbour and Sorrento Beach are also patrolling. Windy conditions, please swim between their flags.
City, Cott, Mullaloo, North Cott, Scarborough and Trigg beach have active patrols. The UV index is 12 today, remember to Slip Slop Slap.
Fisheries advise sighting of 4m-5m shark u/k species 4km south of Mindarie 1km offshore between Burns Rock and the beach. Reported 07:12am.
