Unearthed winners step in

SIMON COLLINS, The West Australian Updated February 23, 2012, 3:00 pm

Chiddy Bang have pulled out of the Groovin' the Moo regional festivals around the country, with the Philadelphia hip-hop group preferring to focus on "new TV and radio promotional opportunities for their upcoming album in the US," according to promoters.

The silver lining is that triple j Unearthed artist of the year winners *Ball Park Music *will join the bill for the five-date national circuit, which kicks off with a sold-out event in Bendigo on May 5 before winding up in Bunbury on May 19.

The Brisbane band landed two songs, It's Nice to be Alive and All I Want is You, in the Top 40 of the Hottest 100 recently. GTM promoter Stephen Halpin said that while he was annoyed by Chiddy Bang's decision, Ball Park Music were a suitable replacement. Other acts include Kaiser Chiefs, Hilltop Hoods, Andrew W.K., Matt Corby and Public Enemy. Tickets from gtm.net.au or Moshtix outlets.
