BDO kicks off

Youngsters trying to sneak into the Big Day Out have failed to get past police.

Ten move on notices were handed out to revellers who tried to jump the fence at the McCallum Park site in Victoria Park.

Kensington Police's Acting Sen. Sgt Chris Hannan said most of the notices were handed to "intoxicated juveniles" and plain-clothed liquor enforcement officers were patrolling the venue.

More than 15,000 music fans are expected at the festival.

More to come.
