Each day and throughout the day, we update our website with breaking news and selected content from The West Australian.

Full copies of the newspaper from today and previous days are available by subscription by clicking here.

1. Online Information

When is The West Australian online updated?

Daily news is updated throughout the day as news breaks.

Where is today's news?

Click on http://www.thewest.com.au. Today's top news stories will appear on the home page.

Where is yesterday's news?

All news published at http://www.thewest.com.au is available for seven days.

These can be found by entering the relevant text in the "Search" box.

Articles older than seven days are available by subscription or if they are less than 12 months old, they can be ordered by clicking here.

Where is editorial and Opinion?

Opinion and Blogs are available by clicking on the Opinion tab near the top of the screen.

Where is shareholders information?

Current and recent WAN share activity is available via the 'Corporate' link in the 'Also on The West' section at the bottom of every page.

How do I subscribe?

To subcribe to the full electronic edition of The West Australian click here.

Where do I find Technical Support?

How do I order digital past issues of The West Australian?

These are available via subscriptions through our Active Past Editions. This will allow you to access all editions from July 2004 via subscription - click here for more information.

How do I purchase individual articles online?

  1. Articles 12 months and older can be sourced at the Battye Library.
  2. Artilcles from July 2004 can be accessed by subscription from the past editions - click here for more information.
  3. Articles that have appeared in the past 12 months can be obtained by back ordering the paper. We will require the date the article appeared ($1.20 W/Day and $2.20 Sat).
  4. If the article has appeared in the past 12 months and the date it appeared is known we can provide a photocopy (50c per page available at the front desk at newspaper House.

3. Technical and Support

How do I make the text size larger?

This can be achived in two ways. 1] If you hold the 'Ctrl' key down while pressing the '+' [to the right of the numbered keys]key you can increase the font size of the page or 2] Again, holding the 'Ctrl' key down while pushing forward the scroll wheel on your mouse will also increase the font size.

How do I make the text size smaller?

This can be achived in two ways. 1] If you hold the 'Ctrl' key down while pressing the '-' key [to the right of the numbered keys] you can decrease the font size of the page or 2] Again, holding the 'Ctrl' key down while pushing the scroll wheel backwards on your mouse will also decrease the font size.

How do I print just the article?

To the right of the heading is a small picture of a printer. Click this and the article will convert to a "Print Friendly Version".

What do I need to view Acrobat pdf files?

Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0.8

Why can't I see images on your site?

You may have your browser set to not view images, go to the support page for your browser to check how to change this.

If you are inside a firewall at work, these may be blocked.

How do I know if I have video player?

If you have the correct video player, the video will display correctly in your screen when you click on it - make sure you have the correct player as listed below.

What can't I see video playback?

There are a number of reasons. First check you have latest versions of:

What are pop up blockers?

Later browsers versions have pop up blockers which stop new windows appearing. We do rely on this from time to time and if your browser is set to not accept pop ups these windows will not appear.

When a pop up appears, in later version browsers, your menu bar will flash and clicking on it will prompt you to allow pop ups from this site. If you have queries on this, please consult your browser help page above.

How do I book a classified advertisement online?

To book an Employment advertisement to go in the newspaper and/or online, click here.

NB - Online Employment advertisements will be proofed and costed before submission. For other advertisements, while we develop these elements of the site, the advertisement will be charged as per the rate card here.

How do I subscribe to the newspaper?

Phone 1800 811 855 or register your interest online here.

How do I change the details of my subscription?

To change your delivery details or arrangements, please contact your delivery agent whose details will appear on your invoice.

How do I order back issues of The West Australian?

Call Press Photos on 9482 2378 to order - these can be collected from Newspaper House 50 Hasler Road, Osborne Park.

Pricing is $1.20 W/day and Sat $2.20. (we can only back order papers for the last 12 months anything older they will need to go to the Battye Library, 25 Francis St, Perth, Ph: 9427 3291).

7. Letters and Feedback

How do I submit a letter to the editor?

All letters must be SIGNED with the writer's full name and address (not postal) and, if applicable, telephone number. Send them to Letters to the Editor, WA Newspapers, GPO Box N1027, Perth WA, 6843. Fax 9482 3830 or email to letters@wanews.com.au (include full address and telephone number). Keep them short and keep copies. They may be edited for Legal reasons or clarity.

You can now send text messages and photos for publication on the letters pages. Simply SMS to 0434 600 700 and be sure to include your name and suburb.
