The stars of this year's X Factor took to the stage at Perth Arena last night to wrap up the reality talent show's Australian tour and were met with the type of fanfare usually reserved for more established pop acts.
This year's X Factor has been one of the most successful talent quests in Australian TV history, producing a No. 1 album from winner Dami Im and two No. 1 singles from Im and runner-up Taylor Henderson.
Former child star Jiordan Tolli, who finished fifth on the Channel 7 show, kicked off proceedings with her Lorde-esque vocals in front of an intimate-sized setting within the Arena before urban pop group Third D3gree upped the energy levels with their lively, fast-paced set.
The biggest response were reserved for the three finalists, starting with pint-sized Jai Waetford, who finished third and has received a glowing endorsement via Twitter from Justin Bieber.
The precocious 14-year-old impressed the crowd with his self-penned first single Your Eyes and his cheeky interaction with the hysterical girls in the audience.
Victorian country lad Henderson, 20, provoked screams from the family-friendly crowd as he crooned his hit Borrow My Heart. But it was South Korean-born Im the fans were clearly waiting for and she delivered in spades, especially her cover of Prince's Purple Rain.
WA auditions for The X Factor 2014 will be held in Bunbury at the Quality Hotel Lord Forrest on January 16 and at Parmelia Hilton Perth on January 18 and 19.
