B *rendan Fevola * may have missed his chance to claim the coveted mirror-ball trophy on Seven's Dancing with the Stars this year, but the former AFL footballer said he was glad to go back to "being a dad".
After being eliminated from the dancing competition on Sunday, Fevola told _AAA _ he would return to being a "full-time dad" so that wife *Alex *could focus on her new business.
"I'll be back to being a dad again," he said. "Alex has just opened a new business, so I'll be minding the kids and I'm really looking forward to that."
Unlike fellow contender * Vogue Williams *, who partied the night away with fiance *Brian McFadden *and missed a string of post-elimination interviews the following morning, Fevola said he had an early night at home after filming for the show wrapped.
"It was pretty low-key because I knew I had to go on TV the next morning for Sunrise and Today," he said. "I went home early and woke up to the kids, which was good."
Fevola described the first of his two Sunday night performances with dance partner *Jessica Raffa *, both left, * *as a "shemozzle" after he forgot his dance steps midway through the routine.
"It was the first time I'd forgotten all my steps," he said. "I felt bad for Jess, I let her down."
He later revealed to the judges that his shaky salsa performance was brought on by an incident at Friday rehearsals, which saw him accidentally drop Raffa.
"I had to chuck her in the air and catch her by one arm and one leg, but I caught her legs so she hit her head on the floor and knocked herself out," he said. "So we had to change the routine. I got (the steps) in rehearsal then I forgot on the show."
But who does Fevola tip to win?
"I was on the blue boys' team, so I've got to go for *Johnny * *(Ruffo *)," he said.
The Dancing with the Stars grand finale will air on Sunday at 6.30pm on Seven/GWN7.
