The Cottesloe Hotel's swanky new Beach Club set the tone for Seven's star-studded 2013 season launch last night, with a raft of local personalities and a handful of the network's biggest names descending on the revamped space to hear what's in store for this year.
The most popular celebrity to attend was My Kitchen Rules judge *Manu Feildel *, who was accompanied by his *Perth * girlfriend *Clarissa Weerasena *and his mum and stepdad *Evelyne * and *Michel Wuckelt *who are currently visiting from France.
Despite hitting the headlines last week when he was caught out by reporters in Sydney driving without his L-plates and a supervising driver, the suave Frenchman was more than happy to address the licence scandal.
"I needed to go to the shop and no one was around and so I thought 'I'm just going to get in the car'," he told _AAA _, adding that the Sydney reporter who caught him was "very cheeky".
"I'm trying to teach my kids to do the right thing. I've done it, I made a mistake and let's move on with it."
Despite the launch coinciding with last night's Perth-based episode of MKR, WA "hipster lovebirds" *Andi Thomas *and *Josh Maldenis *came to mingle with the crowd.
The couple told _AAA _ they were planning to watch their episode of the hit reality cooking show online, so they wouldn't miss how their tumultuous dinner party was captured on screen.
"I come across as myself I think, the only thing is this hipster thing, I'm not a hipster!" Thomas said.
Already admitting there was some rivalry with trouble-making siblings *Jake * and *Elle Harrison *, Maldenis joked they would "never be our best mates".
Also making an appearance was WA's second MKR team, mother- daughter beauty queen duo *Lisa * and *Candice Clarke *, who stepped out in matching purple ensembles.
Last year's X Factor winner *Samantha Jade *was all smiles, telling _AAA _ she was glad to be back home, even though it was a brief visit.
"It's so amazing to be back here, I feel so blessed," she said.
Performing four songs on stage, including her No. 1 winner's single What You've Done to Me, the 25-year-old looked every inch the pop starlet in a dress from an LA label which is exclusively stocked by Perth fashionista *Zara Bryson *, who styled the pocket rocket.
Fresh from joining Seven Perth's newsroom as the replacement for former weather presenter *Natalia Cooper *, a radiant *Angela Tsun *- decked out in a figure-hugging red frock - was enjoying her first event with the network since defecting from Nine last year.
Before Seven Network chief executive *Tim Worner *took to the stage to address the crowd, Seven Perth managing director *Mario D'Orazio *and Seven West Media chief executive *Chris Wharton *each delivered a few words, touching on the local success of the network.
Perth-born Worner spoke of his love for his hometown and how he once lived in breezy *Cottesloe *, then made a joke about Feildel's driving mishap.
Touching on the network's success following the launch of this year's MKR, which has trumped its ratings rival Ten's MasterChef: The Professionals since it began airing on Monday, Worner acknowledged it was a tough media climate but was positive about the year ahead.
A highlights reel for 2013 gave the crowd a sneak peak of the string of new home-grown TV series including period drama A Place to Call Home, The Mole, Celebrity Splash and new renovation series House Rules.
