One of the hottest events on the *Perth *social calendar is set to receive a dose of fire this year when local burlesque personality *MC Feisty *takes over the reins for the 2013 Oasis ball.
The vivacious vixen, whose real name is *Nikki Mauri *, has been handed the highly coveted role as MC for the advertising and media industry's night of nights, which will descend on Crown Perth's grand ballroom on March 15.
Feisty is no stranger to wowing a crowd, having performed with burlesque troupes and entertained guests at private and public functions across Australia.
Having just flown in from a working holiday in Singapore this week, the MC told _AAA _she felt privileged to be enlisted for the top job at the Oasis Ball.
"It's great that (the organisers) have the vision and the scope that they wanted to introduce someone different and totally independent and individual," Feisty said.
The entertainer said her unique approach to dealing with the audience would add a fresh spark to the event, which has been running for more than 20 years.
"A lot of it is non-scripted and I tend to not pick on people but I like to isolate people in the audience and have fun with them," she said.
"As my name is MC Feisty, I bring that persona with me."
While preparations for the night will remain tightly under wraps until the final moment, organisers have revealed the event will take on a Fire and Ice theme and Feisty will be dressed in glamorous gowns by *Ruth Tarvydas *.
But the ball doesn't just present the chance for members of the advertising industry to celebrate their achievements from the past 12 months.
The usually sold-out event also raises funds for the Salvation Army Crossroads West program.
It has raised more than $1 million over 10 years to help combat teenage homelessness.
"The charity aspect is for a very worthy cause so I am really proud to be a part of it," Feisty said.JESSIE STOELWINDER
