Dolly opens up about rumours

Dolly Parton would have "come out of the closet just a-flying" if she was gay.

The country music star has been married to Carl Dean for 46 years but he has chosen to stay out of the limelight, leading to speculation about their marriage.

Parton has endured claims Dean doesn't exist, as well as allegations she is a secret lesbian.

"I'm not gay. If I was gay, I would have come out of the closet just a-flying," she told the New York Daily News.

"I've been married 46 years. I think people think that in itself is not normal."
