After mentoring Sarah De Bono on The Voice, rocker Joel Madden has now taken his wife Nicole Richie's sister Sofia under his wing and offered to produce her first album.
Lionel Richie's 14-year-old daughter is hoping to follow in her famous father's footsteps and launch a music career - and Sofia reveals she's already begun penning her own tunes.
"I'm always in the studio with my dad. I've written a few songs. I'll start off writing rhymes, then freestyles, then I add in beats," she tells Teen Vogue magazine.
But even though the aspiring star has a Grammy-winning parent on hand for support, the teen admits her Good Charlotte rocker brother-in-law has been the one acting as her mentor and helping her hone her skills.
"Joel is always like, 'Let me produce your first record!' He takes me to the studio for voice lessons and we write together. He's really cool. He's one of my best friends."Madden proved popular on the Nine Network show this year, although it is uncertain if he will sign again for the next season of The Voice.
