Life hasn't stopped for model/TV presenter Jason Dundas. Currently based in New York City where he hosts VH1's US morning show, Big Morning Buzz, live from Times Square, not even a busy TV schedule could stop the ambitious 29-year-old from fulfilling his duties back home.
As an ambassador for David Jones menswear, the former Getaway host flew into Sydney this week to take part in the department store's coveted 2012 spring/ summer fashion launch.
The trip will not only see Dundas take to the runway for the first time but will also see him join forces with Perth-born beauty Megan Gale to host a first-ever behind-the-scenes look at the event, which will be streamed live on the web and will air on Foxtel's Arena channel on Monday.
Speaking to AAA from his New York home, Dundas said he was excited about returning to Australian shores to take part in the fashion launch.
"I'm pumped about coming back, I can't wait," he said. "I get to participate in two ways which is pretty exciting."
The one-hour TV special will offer viewers a glimpse of what unfolds beyond the runway, as well as a sneak peek at the latest fashion trends that will hit Australian stores this season.
"It's going to allow people to get an inside look into the entire show from the red-carpet arrivals to the mayhem that goes on backstage," Dundas explained.
When speaking about his debut on the fashion runway, nerves seemed to be the last thing on Dundas' mind.
"That reality will kick in a minute before I walk out," he laughed. "I'm going to actually walk in the show with Miranda (Kerr) and Megan (Gale) and Samantha (Harris), so I'm glad I'm in good, experienced company."
When asked what trends would filter into this season's menswear, Dundas said some styles would take a cue from what was being worn on the streets of New York.
"What the guys are doing (in New York) now is they're cuffing their pants really high and they're wearing loafers with no socks," he said.
"So that trend is being brought back into Australia and I think that will be present on the runway."After his Sydney visit, Dundas will fly to Los Angeles to host the 2012 Do Something charity awards for VH1.
