Hollywood actor Ben Stiller was joined by fellow A-lister Tom Cruise on Tuesday as he preserved his handprints and footprints in the courtyard of the famed TCL Chinese Theatre.
The 48-year-old, who plays a fantasist in his new movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, said he was making a wish come true at the Hollywood landmark.
"It's very, very meaningful to me," he said.
Meet the Fockers star Stiller is the son of actors and was introduced at the ceremony by Cruise, his co-star in 2008 comedy Tropic Thunder.
"It's a crowning accomplishment for Ben and I think it's so appropriate today that he is here being honoured at this historical event," Cruise said. "I'm very honoured to be here to announce him and give it to him. A brilliant artist and my dear friend, Ben Stiller."
Stiller - who was accompanied at the ceremony by his wife Christine Taylor, 42, and their children, Ella, 11, and Quinlin, 8 - also thanked agents, managers and casting directors who have helped him over the years, as well as his friends and family.
He joked to his kids: "Hopefully this proves to you that all the years of not being there for school conferences, oboe recitals and birthdays was worth it."
