Lorde's new music video has crashed online music channel Vevo.
Following her standout ARIA Awards performance on Sunday, Lorde released the video for Team on Wednesday.
The video's popularity crashed Vevo soon after it's release.
"omg you crashed vevo!" Lorde tweeted.
The clip was directed by renowned LA director Young Replicant. It shows the New Zealand singer surrounded by water-guzzling acolytes while singing in the middle of an overgrown and abandoned ruin.
Lorde took to Facebook to talk about her inspiration for the video.
"This video was born from a dream I had a few months ago about teenagers in their own world, a world with hierarchies and initiations, where the boy who was second in command had acne on his face, and so did the girl who was queen.
"I dreamt about this world being so different to anything anyone had ever seen, a dark world full of tropical plants and ruins and sweat. And of this world, I dreamt about tests that didn't need to be passed in order to be allowed in: sometimes the person who loses is stronger," she wrote.Team is the second track off her debut album Pure Heroine.
Lorde is currently enjoying a two-month reign at the top of the US Billboard Chart with Royals, which has gone five times platinum in Australia.
The 17-year-old singer will return to Australia at the end of January next year to perform at the Laneway Festival.
