MasterChef: The Professionals

TODAY, 7.30PM, TEN

The winning team from last night's offsite challenge are competing for immunity and an almost certain ride straight through to the finals.

Split into two teams of two, each team must design and cook a three-course Italian meal for their toughest customers yet, 120 Italians.

Guest judge Italian culinary legend Stefano de Pieri is a welcome addition to the show with his infectious passion for flavour and colour.

Both teams impress de Pieri, Matt Preston and Marco Pierre White so much with their efforts, described as "the best service yet", so it could be anyone's game.

The level of skill on display in the show may be head and shoulders above its ratings competitor My Kitchen Rules, however, it's not hard to see why the latter has been trouncing MasterChef.

There's nowhere near the same level of drama and the challenges are repetitive; there are only so many times you can watch Preston salivating over lavish dishes.
