But as London-based chef Yotam Ottolenghi discovers when he returns to his hometown to explore its culinary revolution, food also has the supreme ability to bring people together. While it may not solve the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, there's hope in the emergence of cross-cultural cuisine. Ottolenghi gets friendly receptions in Arab and Jewish restaurants, bakeries and homes as he explores traditional Palestinian food and Jewish dishes influenced by cuisine from around the globe.
