At the beginning of every year, scores of wannabe actors flock to the entertainment capital of the world, Los Angeles, for the chance to nab a coveted TV role during pilot season. As one hopeful puts it, you can make more money by shooting one pilot episode than you otherwise would make in a whole year as a struggling thespian. The premiere of this documentary-style series sees six Australian would-be stars travel to Hollywood, each with varying levels of experience and different expectations. Personalities range from 35-year-old comedian Craig Anderson, who pegs himself as the next Tina Fey, to 22-year-old Penelope Mitchell, who comes off as slightly arrogant, thanks to her LA connections.
