I have to admit to feeling very short changed by this Fiona Bruce (Antiques Roadshow) documentary. The "lost treasure" is a long- missing painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. Called Salvator Mundi or Saviour of the World, it is a luminous portrait of Jesus Christ. Bruce briefly reveals the painting and promises more details of its discovery before filling most of the show with a biography of the great artist. But when we finally get back to the painting there is only the sketchiest story about where it has been since last recorded in 1763 and how it came to be sold at auction in 1958, while over-painted and damaged, for 45.
