The most entertaining part of the first week's dining is the spiky commentary from presenter James Valentine and that is a real disappointment as LifeStyle set the bar high by leading into this new fourth series with a very funny Celebrity Come Dine special. But the food served by the first four contestants is disappointing, their dinner planning is pedestrian - sorry, a topless male waiter is more tacky than funny - and their relentless bitchiness gets irritating. Bisexual shoe collector Mike is the first host and his garlic ice-cream shots are barely touched. Greyhound trainer Danielle tries harder with a cowboys and Indians night and invites everyone to dress up. Boutique owner Kiri arrives in a sari and the funniest part is she doesn't realise her mistake.
