SATURDAY, 5.30PM, UNIVERSALThis story is about as sweet as the Girl Guides cookies being sold but fortunately, it pulls back before nausea sets in and, on balance, is a good movie for the family to chill out with on a festive-season summer afternoon. Real estate agent Julie Sterling (Jessalyn Gilsig, Glee) has just two more sales to make and she will be agent of the year but her boss insists she volunteer as a Girl Scout troop leader. Naturally, her group, the Fireflies, are a bunch of misfits and their opposition, the Monarchs, are perfect. With anyone but Gilsig in the role, Julie probably would have been awful but she manages to humanise the workaholic agent and make her likable.
