You know Grimm will be a well-written drama judging purely by the episode titles, with names such as Happily Ever Aftermath, Bears Will Be Bears and the first of tonight's instalments, Game Ogre.

Portland investigator Nick (David Giuntoli), protector of humans from supernatural creatures that few can see, takes on an unusual case when a string of brutal murders lead the team to an escaped felon/grotesque ogre, who is picking off those who put him in jail, one by one.

His inhuman strength makes him impossible to combat so an injured Nick thinks outside the box to bring him down. Say what you will about the silly premise, but this is a police procedural with a difference.
