SUNDAY, 8.30PM, TEN
The real mystery of this series is that Brody manages to get up in the morning, what with walking his path between the warring parties for whom he is a person of extreme importance.
Tonight he does lose his cool, bellowing in frustration “I can’t, I can’t, I can’t” in response to a verbal attack from Jess, who wants him to put an end to the complications he has thrust on her and their children. But really, when you consider what he faces every day, it’s a mild enough response.
Tonight he and Carrie head off to a motel to cement some of their emotions, proving yet again that neither of them functions well independently. Plus, they’ve been through a bit together. But it doesn’t solve anything, at least in the long term, because no sooner has Brody zipped his pants than he’s back at the behest of the CIA and there is a very exciting car pursuit.
