Barack Obama: Great Expectations, Wednesday, 9.30pm, SBS One

After watching Barack Obama: Great Expectations you could be forgiven for thinking the President didn't achieve much in his first two years.

The documentary analyses Obama's first presidential term and quickly moves from scenes of jubilation when he won the election to listing the six priorities he set when he arrived at the White House.

Frank interviews with Obama's main advisers and political analysts reveal the President's expectations were indeed high. He wanted to lift America out of the economic crisis, reform health care, obtain a peace treaty between Israelis and Palestinians, end the war in Iraq, withdraw American soldiers from Afghanistan and close Guantanamo. But by the end of episode one the only goal Obama has achieved is health-care reform.
