Puberty Blues, Wednesday, 8.30pm, Ten
Based on the 1979 book of the same name, this commendable Australian drama has been a refreshing addition to the schedule and somehow still extremely relevant despite being based in a bygone era. The first season ends in an episode which sees protagonists Sue and Debbie break out of their gender roles. Sue and Danny's relationship comes
to an unorthodox end and the best friends make a statement which causes them to face being relegated to the front of the school bus again. However, this time they have a new-found independence and confidence. Meanwhile, a move to the big smoke could be in the wings for the Knight family after Roger takes a job with a big agency and the Vickers' marriage looks like it might survive after months of counselling.
