Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?, Wednesday, 6.30pm, E!

Joan Rivers is one of those women you love to hate and she has made that all too easy. But, thanks to this series, you can't help admiring her a little - and maybe even liking her a bit too.

This season starts off with her daughter Melissa holding a "skintervention" in the hope of persuading her mother against going to the plastic surgeon for her 735th touch-up.

Rivers is 79 and, as her daughter says, she is way past the "live fast, die young and leave a good-looking corpse" time in her life.
