You have to hand it to whoever came up with the format for this series. The idea of offering tantalising snippets of an investigation, over the course of an episode, is guaranteed to keep us hooked.
What we have here is a series of crimes, small and big, which are committed, investigated, tried and judged, leaving us utterly satisfied that the world is a safe place. I love it, particularly the sonorous commentary of host Grant Bowler and the language used.
The officers "discover inconsistencies which require further investigation", for instance. This week, it's a religious statue with a tummy full of something-or-other, and a man with enough food in his suitcase to open a small deli. He was confused...
