Iggy Azalea rules at AMAs

If there was ever any doubt that the American Music Awards was Iggy Azalea's night, the rapper has won her second gong.

The Aussie artist took out Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, beating veteran Eminem and Canadian rapper Drake.

The Mullumbimby rapper told the audience in LA's Nokia Theatre that winning the award really proves to her that she's heading in the right direction - just in case her seven-week stint on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts hadn't already shown her that.

"I did not think I would win again," she said.

"I think musicians, we receive so much critique, sometimes you question what you're doing, and this really validates that I am on the right path."

Earlier in the night, Azalea also won the Best Rap Hip-Hop Album for her record the New Classic, telling the audience it was "the first award I've won in my entire life". The rapper also put in a show-stopping performance of two tracks, her hit Fancy and Beg For It.
