Ocean takes title over Gotye

Australian performer Gotye has missed out on a Brit Award after US singer Frank Ocean took home the honour for best international male solo artist.

Also up in the category were Jack White, Michael Buble and Bruce Springsteen.

Earlier this month, Gotye won three Grammy Awards for Somebody That I Used to Know, including Record of the Year.

The Melbourne-based 32-year-old, also won Grammys for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Pop Duo/Group performance.
