Gyllenhaal living childhood dream

Prince of Persia star Jake Gyllenhaal says he's living out his Indiana Jones-loving childhood dreams.

The star says he hopes young fans will be jumping off sofas pretending to be his character in Prince Of Persia, just like he did when he was younger.

"Oh man, if that happens that'll be a dream come true, that's the reason why I made this movie," he explained.

"I made this movie for the kid in me that loved Indiana Jones, loved The Goonies.

"Couch jumping - it's a dream if that happens," he laughed.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time opens in Australia on May 27.
