The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has dominated the competition on its opening weekend at the Australian box office. The fourth and final movie in the vampire series has taken in $12,490,775, making it the third highest grossing opening of the year behind The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers.
Globally, the film, which stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, took in more than $340 million at the weekend.Twilight has taken in more than the rest of the top 20 combined, with previous No.1 Argo â€” Ben Affleckâ€™s thriller about efforts to smuggle Americans out of Iran during the hostage drama of 1979 â€” coming a distant second with $1,070,355.
