Aussie actor Kick Gurry has landed a role alongside Tom Cruise in the forthcoming film All You Need Is Kill.

Gurry, who starred in the hit Australian TV series Tangle, will play a soldier in the Doug Liman-directed futuristic film, according to News Ltd.

Cruise also plays a soldier who must fight an alien-like battle day after day in a Groundhog Day-type scenario, it has been reported.

Emily Blunt will star in the film, which is set for release in 2014.
