She has made a name for herself in Los Angeles and now *Perth * actress *Freya Tingley * has her sights set on conquering Britain.

After a fruitful year that saw her star in *Clint Eastwood *'s film version of Jersey Boys and Netflix series Hemlock Grove, Tingley has returned to *WA * to spend Christmas with her family at their *Mt Claremont *home.

But the visit won't be all play, as the 20-year-old plans to record a series of self-tape auditions for projects in the US and the UK in the hope of landing some big roles in the new year.

"I would love to do a bit of travel and work in England," Tingley told _AAA Weekend _of her aspirations for 2015. "I just got an agent over there because I wanted to broaden my horizons. There is a lot of great material coming from England and I wanted to have my finger on the pulse over there as well."

Tingley cites Lifetime movie The Choking Game and indie flick No Way to Live as two highlights from the past year but walking the red carpet for the Jersey Boys premiere was also a major life moment. "It was the first premiere I had been to for a film I had been in and it was awesome," she said.

This trip to Perth is the first since Tingley's breakout role in the movie musical, which marked the start of her transition from burgeoning performer to Hollywood starlet.

With her next visit home likely to be a while away, the actress plans to spend quality time with her family at Christmas, albeit a day late.

"We usually have a big family gathering on Christmas but this year we will be doing it on Boxing Day because my sister will be in Melbourne for Christmas Day," she said.
