Hemsworth considers returning to Summer Bay

He's starred in a string of box office hits and has several blockbusters in the works, but should the Hollywood thing not work out, Chris Hemsworth may consider returning to Summer Bay.

The 31-year-old actor, who landed his big break on Home and Away a decade ago, hasn't ruled out returning to the popular soap if the film roles dry up.

"Never say never, I love working on that show," Hemsworth said with a laugh on the red carpet at Foxtel's season launch in Sydney on Thursday night.

"It taught me more about this business and acting than anything and who knows."

With wife and Spanish actress Elsa Pataky and their three children in tow, the 31-year-old Thor hunk is currently back on home soil to shoot TV promotions as Foxtel's star ambassador.

"It's good to be back home in Australia, I haven't spent this amount of time here for a few years now," he said.

A proud father of three, Hemsworth described being a dad to two-year-old India Rose and seven-month-old twin sons Sasha and Tristan as "awesome".

"The twins are seven months old now and they're starting to move around and the personalities are coming out," he said. "Everyday there's always something different, it's the best."

With four films out next year and three more in the pipeline including the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel The Huntsman, Hemsworth has a busy year ahead.

But despite regularly flitting between film sets, the actor doesn't take his success for granted.

"It's busy because you're rolling from one film to another, and often you're prepping one while you're shooting a different one," he said. "But I like to stay busy and I'd be hit over the head if I were to complain about any of it."
