Corr pleads guilty to heroin charge

Aussie actor Ryan Corr has pleaded guilty in a Sydney court to possessing a small amount of heroin.

The 25-year-old was caught in May with .26 grams of the drug in a Bondi lane in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

Corr is at Waverley Local Court, where his lawyer Chris Murphy is arguing a conviction would significantly impact his career.

"He has a contract for a major movie," he told the court on Tuesday.

"He is at the top of his brilliant career."

Mr Murphy has tendered 11 characters references, including one from award-winning actress Jacqueline McKenzie.

Corr is best known for his role in the popular Australian family drama Packed to the Rafters.

He will soon star in Russell Crowe's upcoming directorial debut The Water Diviner.

Last week it was confirmed Corr had dropped out of the Sydney Theatre Company play Cyrano De Bergerac.
