Her days of strutting down the catwalk might be behind her but all eyes were on Perth-raised supermodel Megan Gale at the David Jones autumn winter 2014 collection launch in Sydney last night as she showed off her growing baby bump on the red carpet.

Wearing a form-fitting black-and- white Stella McCartney gown, it marked the first official appearance for the 38-year-old, left, a longstanding ambassador for the department store, since she announced she was expecting her first child, with AFL boyfriend Shaun Hampson, 25, in November.

"I am super lucky. I have not felt any type of morning sickness or anything like that," Gale told AAA.

"I am getting to the end of my second trimester so I still have that second trimester energy. I don't know if that will drop off in the third trimester. Everyone is different so I will see how I go."

As someone who openly embraces a healthy lifestyle, Gale will no doubt make some women jealous with what she has been craving during her pregnancy.

"I have had some good cravings. It is like I have super fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice," she revealed.

"I eat the same as I always did which is a well-balanced diet with the occasional treat. And I still have that. I might have a little bit of chocolate or a little bit of ice cream.

"Like everyone, just keep it 90 per cent healthy and have a treat every now and then and look after yourself."

Melbourne-based Gale came home to Perth to spend the festive season with her family and said it might be a

while before she got back to WA as she wasn't sure about travelling with a baby.

"It is always good to go back because this year I don't know if I would be able to take bub over or not," she said.

"I could maybe take bub home for Christmas but we will have to see.

"My folks are pretty excited. But they already have two grandchildren so it isn't the first one, whereas with Shaun's parents it is the first grandchild. It is a very new experience for them."

The brunette made headlines this week when she hit out at internet trolls who were posting negative comments on her social media accounts. She said she didn't want to give the cyber bullies any more "oxygen" by talking about issues.

"I don't want to keep giving it oxygen but I think everyone has their own page and their own account and they should be able to dictate what is on there and they have a right to that. And for me it is all about positivity," she said.

"It wasn't anything I couldn't handle and no one was threatening to kill me or anything, it was just a few snide remarks which I was quietly deleting and they kept coming back and kept coming back so I was like 'OK, you need to just stop'.

"If you don't like me. You don't need to follow me."

Gale said normally she would bite her tongue on contentious issues but this was something she felt passionate about.

"There are a lot of times when you don't acknowledge and you don't comment about something because you don't want it to turn into some kind of media storm," she said.

"I guess I could get off social media but I think I have a right to have my account and connect and be positive."
