Shane Warne's ex-wife has told a British newspaper she is not responsible for his reported split from fiancee Elizabeth Hurley.
Hurley, 48, has stopped wearing her engagement ring after she and Warne reportedly argued about his close relationship with his ex-wife.
Although Simone Callahan was seen visiting Warne's house last week, she insists they are just friends.
"There are definitely no feelings there," she told the Daily Mirror.
"Shane and I gave it a good shot. We're much better the way things are as friends."
The 43-year-old, who is the mother of Warne's three children, said she was happy with boyfriend Toby Roberts.
Callahan confirmed she and Warne, 44, were not getting back together.
"I hope he and Elizabeth can work things out as they seemed happy together," she said.
Hurley reportedly feels "cut off" from Warne’s life.
There have been reports that the British actress and model and the former Australian cricketer have disagreed about where to set up home, with Hurley eager to live in England and Warne preferring Australia.
"Shane was often on the phone to Simone in the early hours of the morning. It can’t have been easy for Liz. I’m sure she felt cut off from his other life," a source told British magazine Grazia.
The stars apparently argued about Warne’s close relationship with Callahan.
Warne and Hurley had been spending long periods of time apart - she was based in the UK, while Warne was in Australia. During this time, Hurley was said to be unhappy about Warne meeting up regularly with his ex.
"It must have crossed Liz’s mind there might be something going on," a source said.
Warne flew out of Australia recently to meet Hurley for "crisis talks" in a bid to save their romance.
It has been claimed he is determined to save his engagement to the British beauty.
Hurley finally addressed rumours about the romance last week, saying the situation was too "raw and personal" to discuss.Warne seemed more hopeful, insisting the pair were not ready to "throw the towel in yet".
