Lucas braves Perth's cold

She starred in action blockbuster Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen alongside Shia LaBeouf, worked with iconic movie director Steven Spielberg, featured in an Ed Sheeran music video and joined actress Hayden Panettiere in a celebrity protest championing animal rights.

Despite spending the past few years mingling with Hollywood's finest, Melbourne- born, Los Angeles- based actress Isabel Lucas was happy to don a swimsuit and brave Perth's wet dreary weather yesterday to shoot a Mediterranean-themed campaign for leading WA jeweller Linneys.

The 28-year-old is the latest celebrity to be unveiled as the face of the brand, which previously featured Perth expats Melissa George and Jessica Marais as well as former Victoria's Secret model Jessica van der Steen.

Posing for the decadent summer-inspired shoot, which took place at a lavish Mosman Park mansion, also marked her first visit to Perth.

"I just feel really appreciative to be here," Lucas told AAA. "It was good timing. I wasn't filming anything, I had a little free pocket of time."

The former Logie-winning Home and Away star, who has dated Thor hunk Chris Hemsworth and folk-blues singer Angus Stone, is gearing up for a busy 2014 with the release of four films, including the Erik Van Looy-directed thriller The Loft, starring alongside fellow Aussie actress Rachael Taylor.

"I feel really fortunate to live in LA, because there are so many opportunities over there," she said.

"I'm the right age in my life right now to live there but I still feel like I have strong roots to Australia, I'm really a country girl at heart."

Assistant creative director Justin Linney said enlisting Lucas for its new campaign, which will be launched in November, was a perfect fit.

"She embodies a casual elegance that appeals to our brand," he said. "She's a stunning Australian actress. We were excited about having her involved."
