Stars have begun arriving on the red carpet for the MTV Music Video Awards in New York.
Lady Gaga managed to cause a stir by strolling the wrong way down the carpet in a black leather dress.
Gaga will kick off the show with a performance of her new single Applause, the first track from her new album ARTPOP.
But she wasn't ready to spill any details during MTV's pre-show telecast.
"I don't want to give anything away, but it's going to be awesome," Gaga said. "We've been rehearsing for a while, and I'm so excited for the fans to see it. It's going to be a great show."
The MVA's are already shaping up as Justin Timberlake's night.
The lead nominee - with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - is up for six awards. Timberlake also will be honoured with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and the anticipation over whether he and his old boy-band cronies will appear together will persist well after the show kicks off on Sunday night from Brooklyn's Barclays Center.Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has been nominated for an MVA award. She's up for the Artist To Watch gong for her Work music video.
