Australian actors Nash Edgerton and Matt Nable have been added to the cast of Son of a Gun, Julius Avery's crime thriller that's currently being shot around Perth.
Although Edgerton is primarily known as a film director (he made the well-regarded thriller The Square), he has a long history as an actor and a stuntman. Most recently, he doubled for his older brother Joel on Zero Dark Thirty.
Nable is a former rugby league player and boxer who had a major role in Underbelly: Badness and in the recent Australian-made action movie Killer Elite with Clive Owen, Robert De Niro and Jason Statham.
Both are working with Son of a Gun star Ewan McGregor, who is continuing to update his Twitter followers about working in Perth and the warm weather.
"Shooting in Perth Australia on Son of a Gun. End of week 2. Good stuff so far. Actors are fantastic. Hot as Hell here (sic)," wrote McGregor.
Indeed, the producers of the film and Telstra are giving punters the chance to be one of those cast members the star is tweeting about.
Telstra is running a competition in which its customers have the chance to win a role as an extra on Son of a Gun, in which McGregor plays a career criminal doing one last job.Just go on to the Telstra Facebook page, cut and paste your photo on to a real-life movie hero, give the fake film a name, a tagline and a series of made-up actors and you could be working with Ewan. Entries close on March 18.
