Tina Turner has become the oldest person ever to grace the cover of Vogue magazine.

The 73-year-old Simply The Best singer appears on the front of April's German Vogue.

Turner is in the process of obtaining Swiss citizenship and will soon give up her US passport, German-language newspaper Blick reported in January.

"I'm very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here," Turner, a Swiss resident since 1995, told the paper.

"I cannot imagine a better place to live."

Meryl Streep was Vogue's previous oldest covergirl.

She appeared on the front of its US edition in 2012, aged 62.
