British actor Ewan McGregor, in WA filming crime thriller Son of a Gun, last night made his first public appearance since arriving in Perth.
He was at Tiffany & Co for the launch of Polo in the Valley.
McGregor said he was enjoying Perth but had been working hard and had not had a chance to see many of WA's tourist attractions.
The 41-year-old star of Trainspotting and the Star Wars prequels has spent a lot of time at maximum-security Casuarina Prison, where Son of a Gun is being filmed.
His character is described as a seasoned armed robber who takes a small-time thief under his wing to pull off an audacious heist.
Polo in the Valley will be held at Duncraig Stud on April 14.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
