R *ose Smith *may have the fashion capitals of the world at her fingertips but the *WA *beauty is still an Aussie girl at heart and has a soft spot for her home town.
Smith was back in *Perth *last night to walk the red carpet at the 17th annual WA Fashion awards in the *CBD *, accompanied by acclaimed photographer boyfriend *Greg Lewis *and co-presenting the Mercedes-Benz runway model of the year award.
"I was really honoured to be asked to present an award," Smith, right, a regular on the catwalks of Australian Fashion Week, told _AAA _. "It's really exciting that I got to come back for it."
Perth Fashion Festival founder *Mariella Harvey- Hanrahan *gushed about Smith's success and being able to have her in attendance.
"Rose is just one example of many WA supermodels who are now enjoying success worldwide," Harvey-Hanrahan told _AAA _. "Rose has walked the runway for the likes of Chanel, Marchesa, Mulberry and Dolce & Gabbana."
The *Rossmoyne *-raised stunner is currently appearing on one of 15 special-edition covers celebrating the 15th anniversary of Harper's Bazaar magazine and walked in the David Jones autumn-winter 2013 show alongside *Miranda Kerr *and *Jessica Gomes *earlier this month.
Smith plans to spend time with her family while in Perth and go to the beach as much as she can.
"I miss the beach so much when I'm in New York or Paris," she said.Now based in New York, Smith said she missed Perth when she was in other parts of the world but enjoyed her jet-setting lifestyle. "If you'd asked me five years ago if I thought I'd be living all over the world I would have said no, but I really enjoy it," she said. "I'm really lucky this gets to be my life." EMMA CHITTY
