C *laremont *-born-and-raised actress *Adelaide Kane * looks set to make waves in Hollywood.

The 22-year-old, left, who starred in Neighbours in 2006 as Lolly Allen, has landed the lead in the US pilot for a new period drama. The former *St Hilda's * student will play a young Mary Queen of Scots in the CW show Reign.

The pilot, directed by *Brad Silberling *, will chronicle the previously unknown and untold story of Mary Queen of Scots' rise to power when she arrives in France as a 15-year-old, betrothed to Prince Francis, and with her three best friends as ladies-in-waiting.

This is Kane's second major US TV casting after her recurring role in the upcoming third season of Teen Wolf.
