Chris Brown may have looked comfortable snuggled up to Rihanna in the front row of the Grammy Awards yesterday, but Adele soon put an end to that.

Brown sat through a standing ovation for Frank Ocean, who beat Brown for the urban contemporary album Grammy.

Video footage of the awards presentation shows that although Brown clapped, he refused to stand.

Brown and Ocean brawled last month over a parking space at a West Hollywood studio.

A photo taken later shows Grammy Award winner Adele, 24, apparently giving a visibly uncomfortable Brown, 23, a tongue lashing over his ungracious behaviour.

Earlier in the evening, Brown was snuggling up to Rihanna in the front row.

Brown hugged and leaned lovingly against his on/off girlfriend - who he is still on probation for brutally assaulting in 2009 - at the ceremony at Los Angeles' Staples Center, and the brunette beauty sparked online speculation the couple are getting married.

Rihanna appeared to be wearing a diamond "engagement ring" as she took to the stage at the prestigious awards, and several people took to Twitter to express their surprise at the Diamonds hitmaker's band.

One fan wrote: "Rihanna is wearing a diamond on her left ring finger. Really?"

Brown was lucky to attend the event at all after he was involved in a car crash on Saturday when his vehicle hit a wall, and while he escaped unscathed.
