My Kitchen Rules' WA team, Joondanna's *Candice * and *Lisa Clarke *, * *are nervously awaiting their instant restaurant episode of the smash-hit reality cooking series, which will air on Monday night (7.30pm on Seven/GWN7).
Candice told _AAA Weekend _that while filming the episode the pair, originally from the South West, were struck by sickness, which turned the experience into a bit of a nightmare.
"Mum got bronchitis and I got a chronic chest infection - I ended up coughing blood halfway through the night," Candice said.
"It's quite bad - actually it's very bad. We get to lunchtime and we start going 'We're not going to be able to do this'."
Halfway through the night of filming, Candice said her mum took a drowsy cold and flu tablet as they had run out of daytime tablets.
"She was space cadetting. Now I laugh my head off, but I wonder when I watch the show if you can kind of tell."
Clarke said despite the pair's challenges, they were having fun watching the series, which has cracked the magic two million viewer mark three times this week.
"You've just got to enjoy it, it took a year out of our lives - now we're finally seeing what it was for," she said.
After the negative backlash towards eliminated NSW team *Jessie Khan *and *Biswa Kamila *, aka the Spice Girls, Candice said she was hoping it wouldn't be the case for her team, who are labelled the former beauty queens (Lisa won Miss Busselton in 1978 while Candice took out the crown in 2008).
"We've been warned we're going to cop it like the Spice Girls," she said.
"We never say anything horrible, we say lovely things about the food but also critical things - we're teachers you know, constructive criticism is good."
Candice said the mother/daughter duo's plan of attack for their instant restaurant was to stick together and have fun as well as just getting through the day.
"If you get too stressed you're going to get nowhere, so we just tried to laugh," she said.
"A resilient relationship is seriously what you need to go on this show."Emma Chitty
